On 13 May, 2021, the comprehensive performance evaluation meeting on “Reliability Test and Evaluation Technology of CNC Gear Machine Tool” (Project No.: 2019ZX04012001), a major national science and technology project led and undertaken by Jilin University as a responsible institution, was held in Changchun Guosheng Hotel. The expert panel of this meeting included 8 industrial experts, 2 financial experts, and 1 expert in archives. Shao Qinzuo, Secretary-General of the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association, served as head of the inspection expert panel, and Gong Yuxia, Senior Accountant of the 55th Research Institute of the China North Industries Group, served as the deputy head. Ma Weijia, Project Officer of the Industry Development and Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, presided over the meeting, at which Zhang Yongjun, Deputy Division Director of the Equipment Division of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Jilin Province, was present and Zhou Xiaoqin, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Jilin University, was present and delivered a welcoming speech. Other 49 attendees included representatives from the financial auditing institution of the project, Prof. Yang Zhaojun, leader of the JLU innovative CNC equipment reliability team, sub-project leaders from institutions involved in the research project, technicians, financial professionals, and archivists.
During the meeting, Prof. Li Guofa of the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Jilin University, as the principal researcher, reported the overall completion progress of the project. Sub-project leaders from institutions, such as Jilin University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Beijing University Of Technology, China National Machine Tool Quality Inspection & Test Center, Yichang Changjiang Machine Technology Co., Ltd., Tianjin Jingcheng Machine Tool Co., Ltd., and FAW Jiefang Automobile Co., Ltd. briefed on the completion progress, financial expenditure, and archives management of sub-projects.
As required by the regulations on comprehensive performance evaluation of major projects, the expert panel received the report of the research group and representatives from its auditing institution and reviewed relevant documents. Upon inquiry and discussion, the expert panel fully affirmed the completion progress of the project. They believed that the project completed research on key technology for CNC gear machine tools, including field tests on reliability, early fault test, fault analysis, and reliability evaluation, setting up an reliability evaluation index system for CNC gear machine tool, developing a dynamic database of CNC tear machine tool reliability, and accumulating a number of basic data about CNC gear machine tool reliability. Through fault analysis and reliability evaluation, the project grasped the main fault mode of domestic CNC gear machine tools and found out the current degree of reliability of typical CNC gear machine tools at home and abroad. The application of the research achievement led to a lower early fault rate of typical CNC gear machine tools of partner enterprises, higher reliability of products, and good economic and social benefits.
The expert panel agreed that the documents provided by the research group for comprehensive performance evaluation were standard and complete, and the research group accomplished all research tasks of the project and met all evaluation index requirements stipulated by the contract of project tasks. Therefore, the expert panel approved of the project passing the examination in terms of technology, finance, and archives, and officially passing the comprehensive performance evaluation of major national projects.
The project is the fourth special project led and undertaken by Jilin University as a responsible institution since JLU’s high-level innovation team of “Reliability Technology of CNC Equipment” completed three major national science and technology projects on “Advanced CNC Machine Tool and Basic Manufacturing Equipment” in the early stage. The research group summarized a reliability engineering technology roadmap according to technical features of CNC machine tools, developed a series of reliability guarantee technologies basically throughout the whole life cycle of machine tools, created a reliability technology system with a generalized design of reliability and comprehensive test technology of reliability as the main body for the machine tool industry, and changed the tough situation where before the implementation of the special project, the machine tool industry only had ideas and no technology to enhance the reliability of products. The project is of great significance in making up for the deficiency of domestic CNC machine tool technology, enhancing the reliability of domestic advanced CNC machine tools, further leading research on reliability technology of domestic CNC machine tools, and strengthening the development of key laboratory of CNC equipment reliability under the Ministry of Education.
