Prof Huang is an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is the chief leader of modern metallurgical equipment discipline, the standing director of China Mechanical Engineering Society, the president of Mechanical Engineering Society in Shanxi, and deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of Taiyuan University of Technology. By years of engaging in the research of metallurgical equipment design theories and methods, he has presided over more than 70 national and provincial scientific research projects, undertaken more than 70 national super large enterprise projects, obtained more than 30 authorized invention patents, and published over 80 SEI and EI papers. He has been awarded 1 second Prize of National Technological Invention, 2 second prizes of National Scientific & Technological Progress, and "He Liang He Li Foundation" award of Scientific & Technological Progress. He won the National "May 1st" Labor Medal, was appointed as a National Candidate for the New Century Talent Project, Special Allowance Expert of the State Council, National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker, and Shanxi Provincial Model Worker.
